The Ministry for Education, Research and Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the Institute for Educational Policy supported a training programme for teachers involved in the education of refugee children.

The programme was organized by UNICEF (Refugee and Migrant Response in Greece) in collaboration with the University of Thessaly (partner coordinator), the University of Ioannina and the University of Crete and it was funded by the European Commission (DG ECHO). The training activity is mainly directed at: primary and secondary education teachers who teach at RSRCEs or RCs, or have refugee children in their classes, as well as Education Coordinators and School Unit Directors. 364 teachers have attended the programme so far in Volos, Heraklion, Ioannina, Kavala, Larissa, Patras, Tripoli, Chania and Athens, while the seminars are expected to continue in Athens and Thessaloniki.
