Very High Risk of Fire (Level 4) on Wednesday 26th June 2019
According to the daily Fire Risk Map issued by General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, tomorrow on Wednesday 26th
2019, there is a Very High Risk of Fire (Level 4) for:
- thePrefecture of Attica (as well as the island of Kythera)
- the Prefecture of Central Greece (Viotia, Evia)
- the Prefecture of Peloponnese (Argolida, Corinth, Lakonia)
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (www.civilprotection.gr) has informed the competent authorities, as well as the regional and municipal administrations so that there’s a high degree of readiness to respond immediately to any incidents of fire.
At the same time, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection recommends citizens to be very careful and avoid open-air activities that may cause fire (such as burning litter or dry vegetation and small branches (twigs), using wheel or other instruments that create sparks, open-air barbecues, throwing lit cigarettes in open-air places, use of bee smokers).
Furthermore, it is recalled that the burning of vegetation during the fire-fighting period is prohibited.
If the citizens notice fire they should call immediately the Fire Service call center (199).
